TIMA'S NORTH CHURCH INAUGURAL EXHIBIT FEATURES RICHARD VAN BUREN'S "STATIONS"
The Tides Institute & Museum of Art presents an inaugural exhibition at its North Church building in Eastport, this month that features new cast resin sculptural works by Richard Van Buren. The exhibition, "Stations," will display seven works; six will be positioned between the stained glass windows in the main space and one will be positioned at the end of the remarkably intact early 19th century space. The exhibition will be open to the public free of charge during two weekends, July 18 and 19; and July 25 and 26 from 4-6 pm each day. A exhibition reception will be held on Sunday, July 19 from 4-6 pm. The pieces in the "Stations" exhibition will be later exhibited in the fall of 2015 at the Garth Greenan Gallery in New York City. The artist states that it is important for him to show this work to the people of Washington County where the sculptures were conceived and built.
